Mandatory In-person Registration Week – Mon, July 30 thru Fri, Aug 3, 2018

If you can’t join us on Saturday, August 4 from 10am -3pm for our Annual Denali Summer BBQ, be sure to come into the school during the week of July 30 – August 3 to finalize your registration in person.

  • What?
    • We are requiring all of our families to come to Denali to turn in and complete their 2018-19 paperwork, such as District of Residence forms, proof of vaccinations, free/ reduced lunch forms, etc.
    • Paperwork must be completed before students can start school.
  • Why?
    • All of this paperwork is imperative for both the safety of our students and the funding of our school. We spend hours each year tracking down missing paperwork, and those are hours that we would rather use to support students’ academic success.
    • Students may not start class next fall until the paperwork has been completed.
    • Final paperwork must be completed in person!
  • Can’t make it?
    • If you are out of the area for that entire week, please keep your eyes open for summer registration information, coming in the summer registration email.

2018-19 Facilities

As you know, our long-term facilities plan is to have our middle school building at 539 E. Weddell Drive in Sunnyvale and our high school building about one mile away at 824 San Aleso Avenue in Sunnyvale. We are currently in the process of obtaining all necessary approvals from the City of Sunnyvale for this facility and will then begin renovations with the goal of opening for the 2019-20 school year.

After a long and competitive search, we have identified a temporary location that can be home to three grade levels for Summit Denali for next year. The location of the temporary facility is 1133 W Washington Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. This is the former campus of St. Cyprian Catholic School. After consulting with the City of Sunnyvale, our plan for 2018-2019 is to locate grades 9-11 at the Washington Ave campus and locate grades 6-8 at our Weddell Drive campus.

Parking Permits for High School Drivers, 2018-19 School Year

Next year will be the first year that some Summit Denali students may be able to drive themselves to school. We are committed to being good neighbors and maintaining respectful relationships at our current and future locations, and in that spirit we have developed a Summit Denali Transportation & Parking Policy that outlines the policies and regulations around student transportation and parking. This will be included in our student and family handbook next year, but we wanted to give you an advance preview! Students who will be in 11th grade next year and want to drive themselves to school must complete a parking permit application by the end of this school year, June 8th. Parking permits are extremely limited will be awarded prior to the start of the school year via a lottery system. Please complete the application in hard copy and turn it in to the front desk at Denali or scan and email it to Mr. Bock. If you have questions about the new transportation and parking policy or the parking permit application, please let us know.
