SCCOE published the Board meeting agenda this weekend and we learned that the Board will be in a closed session from 5:00-6:45pm. So, the public meeting will not begin until approximately 7pm. You can find a copy of the agenda here. We are asking all Summit Denali families to arrive at 7:00pm. We will meet in the SCCOE Cafeteria to watch the livestream video of the meeting until our agenda item is called at which point we will all move to the Board Room. SCCOE has asked us to wait in the Cafeteria because there are two other charter schools on the agenda before us and not all families will fit in the Board Room.
We expect that the Public Hearing on Summit Denali’s charter renewal may not conclude until 9:00pm or later. We will provide some snacks for families but encourage everyone to eat dinner before arriving at the meeting as it will be a late night. We ask that you stay as long as you are able to show your support for Denali, but we understand that some families may need to leave before our agenda item is called, and that's OK.
Denali is currently working with the Santa Clara County Office of Education to secure Denali’s 5 year charter renewal. In order to secure our renewal, we need your help! Please attend the SCCOE Board Vote on Wed, December 13 @ 7pm at 1290 Ridder Park Dr. in San Jose, CA.
- We want to fill the room with Denali supporters (at least 100 people!) to show how much community support our school has, so bring the whole family and wear your Denali SWAG! These meetings will last about an hour.
- CLICK HERE TO RSVP so that we know how many to expect. (Didn’t RSVP? That’s OK. Still show up!)
- If you’d like to speak in support of Denali at these meetings, please email Mr. Bock (firstname.lastname@example.org). We need ~10 speakers to share 1 or 2 minute speeches about what Denali has meant to them and their family
You can read more about the charter renewal process here.
If you have any questions about the renewal process, do not hesitate to reach out to Kevin and Anica. Thank you so much for your support!
