Meet Julie, our new Office Clerk!
My name is Julie Grooms, and I am excited to be a part of the Sunset View Elementary School community! I’m a native San Diegan, having graduated from Mount Carmel High School and later from San Diego State University. My husband and I are proud parents of two wonderful children: our son, a senior at San Diego State University, and our daughter, a freshman at UCLA. Over the years, I’ve been deeply involved in my children’s education, volunteering at their elementary school. I served on the Principal’s Advisory Board, where I helped welcome new families into the school community.

At the heart of our family is our 14-year-old tuxedo kitty, Storm, whom we adopted when she was a kitten. In my spare time, I enjoy walking for exercise, gardening for fun, and spending quality time with my family and friends. A fun fact about me: I was born on Valentine’s Day!

I look forward to getting to know the Sunset View community and contributing to the positive, welcoming environment here.

Jogathon Sponsorship
Sunset View's biggest student fundraising event is our Jogathon. This year, "Take Me out to the Jogathon" will be on Friday, January 31, 2025.  During this event, the kids will run around the track and spend the day participating in various fun activities.  The students collect pledges or one-time donations from their family and friends for the laps they run.  The money they raise is used directly to help fund the programs at Sunset View provided by KidsFirst.  Jogathon helps fund KidsFirst's annual operating budget which is approximately $275K this year.

Thanks to a generous community of parents, friends and relatives, Sunset View's Jogathon has proven to be a huge success year after year.  A large part of this success comes from corporate sponsorships which allow us to give every child a Jogathon T-shirt for FREE!  Each sponsor has their business' name/logo on the back of the shirt.

Do you know anyone who owns a business, or are you a business owner who could partner with us?  This is a great opportunity for a company to make an impact on children while gaining name recognition in our own local Point Loma community.  There will be at least 500 shirts printed and running around Point Loma!  Purchase a sponsorship HERE.  Please note, if you donated this year as a Corporate Sponsor, your donation already includes your company logo on the jogathon shirts.  The largest donor will have the largest headline logo on the back of the t-shirt.

The following is a breakdown of what we're offering our corporate sponsors. Please pass this along to someone you know if you cannot donate yourself.  Thank you!

  • $1,000 (or more) Headline Logo Level (amount of your choice)
Your company logo will be prominently featured as one of the largest images on the back of the 500 t-shirts, positioning your brand as a top supporter of the event.
  • $350 Donor Level
Your company logo will be placed on the back of our 500 t-shirts in a smaller size, providing recognition of your support.
  • Custom Level

Any questions about Corporate Sponsorships for Jogathon should be directed to Jo Jo Cadwell or Jill Bruckart via Konstella.
