Halloween Event Recap 
An incredible turn out for yesterday's Halloween Carnival!  What a true community building event as we welcomed 100s of kids to play games and have fun with friends!  A special thank to our organizers Diana Jones and Lisa Keith, carnival class leads, event volunteers and all who helped with closing out the event as everything outside was cleaned up before 7pm!  

Annual Giving is almost over!
While we welcome donations year-round, this fundraising campaign ends on October 25th and allows the KidsFirst board to budget for the rest of the year. If you would like to donate, you can do so here. Please take a look at our Annual Giving flyer for more information on what KidsFirst funds and information on company matching through the end of year.
Annual Giving RSVP Contest Update: Thank you to all the families that have engaged in our RSVP class contest! This contest helps spread the word about Annual Giving and gives classes the opportunity to enjoy a sweet treat! Our goal is for all classrooms to enjoy in this and so far 10 classes have hit 95% or higher. You can still go here to RSVP until Friday, October 25th (Click here to acknowledge the Annual Giving Event). This does not commit you to a donation, just confirms you know our campaign is occurring.
Classes at 95% or over: Kaase, Punzalan, Alegre, O'Leary, Cook, Modiano, Pina, Cooper, Caffo and Mashburn.
Remaining Classes:
  • Oberg 92% (needs 1 more)
  • Sobel 92% (needs 1 more)
  • Galvan 88% (needs 2 more)
  • Tillson 85% (needs 2 more)

Note that KidsFirst has budgeted an average of $698/student in this school year's budget.  Donations are accepted and welcomed in any amount!  Please note that donations at the $2,500 / $1,500 / $1,000 levels come with benefits that are distributed throughout the school year.  Make your Annual Giving Donation HERE .

Calling all Military Kids/Families for the Military Kids Club!

A new morning club is starting that will be run by Vanessa Marin (Naval Base Point Loma School Liaison) with the support of Shannon McCormack, SVE School Counselor. The club is open to all SVE students in military families, and students are allowed to join in at any point throughout the year. If interested, the parents will need to sign the permission slip which can be returned to Shannon (either by email or dropped off in the mailbox/front office). If anyone has any further questions, contact Shannon or Vanessa (vanessa.o.marin.naf@us.navy.mil) by email.

Everyone A Reader Volunteers 

We still need 2 volunteers to fills spots in Ms. Galvan's class and Ms. Pina's class.

Board Game Donations Needed for Mindfulness
Mrs. Eriksson is looking for any used board games families are looking to offload. They will be used to practice mindfulness strategies. Please bring by classroom B3 before or after school.
