Here's your (slightly tardy) weekly email!

 

Calendar Items:
  • THIS WEEK, Sept. 18-22 - Unit Health Assessments!
    Monthly paperwork and membership remittances will be submitted during the Unit Health Assessment. These 45-minute conferences help make sure you have everything you need in place to have a fabulous year! ALL UNITS MUST ATTEND TO BE COMPLIANT IN TVUSD.
    Confirmation emails were sent to each unit to confirm date and time and included a list of all paperwork items that should be brought to the Unit Health Assessment.
  • JUST A REMINDER: Office hours for Sept. 19 and 21 have been cancelled for Unit Health Assessments. Please bring all questions and paperwork, etc. to your scheduled appointment.
  • Wed. Sept. 20 - Cash Handling & General Financial Training, 6 p.m. at Margarita Middle School in the MPR.

    We will be starting promptly and everyone is welcome! Remember, all unit officers - appointed and elected - must receive general financial training annually.

    Cash-handling training will be conducted first (approximately 25-30 minutes), and those attendees released, while those needing general training will stay for completion of training. The entire training (for General Financial Training) should take 60-70 minutes.

  • NEW! THIS WEEKEND Sat. Sept. 23 - College Fair, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Promenade Mall. More than 250 colleges and universities will be represented. Students can receive community service hours for attending!

Looking Ahead:

  • Wed. Oct. 4 - Reflections Submissions are Due! You can turn these in during office hours that day.
  • Mon. Nov. 6 - TVC Reflections Awards Gala, 6 p.m. at the Golden Bear Theater.
  • Tues. Nov. 28 - TVC PTA General Association Meeting, 7 p.m., TVUSD Conference Rooms A-C
  
Other Information!
  • Don't forget, we have an online system where Unit Presidents and Treasurers may request general financial training or cash handling training seminars for their unit. Units must use this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfp7cxHH2dr2yG9IizrUVLM4QIvqVTfx5VPpWG0_J6M6fI9sA/viewform?usp=sf_link  (click here.) to make the request.  Only unit presidents or treasurers may make the request.

  • ELECTRONIC PHOTO RELEASE NEWS! We have confirmed that the TVUSD Photo Release form (available and signed through Infinite Campus) DOES cover PTA activities. This is great news and a sign of what a pro-PTA district we have! With this exciting news comes a couple of caveats:
    • 1) The list of students on the DO NOT PHOTOGRAPH list will be available from your site secretary or administrator. We at TVC PTA do not have access to this information!
    • 2) These release forms DO NOT release the use of the students' names, only their images. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT publish any student names on any social media or internet site.
    • 3) More than anything, we want to protect children. Please use caution and good judgement when posting any pictures in a public forum. 
    • 4) Verbal authorization from ADULTS is acceptable. Simply asking them and receiving verbal confirmation that you may post their image is good enough.
  • NEW! For your convenience, the TVC PTA 2017-2018 Calendar and Paperwork Calendar are attached to this email. Please reference this each month to see what paperwork is due from your unit.
