NYCPS -We will pivot to a remote learning day on Monday, January 26
Sun, Jan 25 10:08am

Dear Families,

Good morning, hope you are staying warm. NYCPS has announced that we will pivot to a remote learning day on Monday, January 26, given the storm.

You will get a message directly from your child’s teacher about the remote learning plan for Monday, along with links to any learning websites, Google Classrooms depending on grade level, and resources you may need.  If you have questions about any of these materials, you can ask your child’s teacher as a first step.

If you are having a tough time with something technology-related, you can email ed@bns146.org, our tech specialist.  Ed works for both BNS and BCS and is likely to be a bit busy Monday, helping where needed, but he will do his best.  You can also reach out to Diane@bns146.org, Shelley@bns146.org, and Fernando@bns146.org, and we will do our best to help troubleshoot any issues as well.

If you/your child need(s) access to your child’s NYCStudents account, here is a link to a page to help reset that password and access the account.  If you need help with this account, email diane@bns146.org and fernando@bns146.org - whoever sees your email first will reply and help to reset the account and/or password.  This is also a good moment to review the DOE’s Digital Citizenship guide with your child.

Again, we know that everyone is different - some children may love the novel nature of a remote learning day, some of our older children (and us as adults!) may have memories triggered from remote/hybrid Kindergarten, some children may not be able to sustain their attention to a remote learning day - please be in touch with your child’s teacher if you have concerns, as we are all aware of necessary flexibility on a day like this one.

Stay warm, stay cozy, stay safe!

Diane
