LETTER FROM LEADERSHIP
Dear BNS,
On a frosty Saturday morning as the temperature began to drop and the city was preparing for the impending snowfall, a group of enthusiastic and hopeful families gathered in the BNS cafeteria. Since the summer, our monthly DEI meetings have included the agenda item of planning for our third annual Better Together event, a weekend gathering at school that invites children and families to bring a dish to share, put on their dancing shoes, and join each other for crafting, food, music, and play. But – the 17 degree temperature had us all a little anxious, as we gathered up beading supplies from the events closet, set up tables with tablecloths in the health studio for the BNS Potluck Cafe, and made sure there were some basketballs in the gym for open play time.

UPCOMING OPEN HOUSE EVENTS
Brooklyn New School will host in person Open Houses and virtual tours this fall/winter. These events are geared towards parents and will last an hour. After a presentation, 5th graders will take small groups of parents on tours of the building. This event is appropriate for parents with children entering pre-K through grade 5.
