LETTER FROM LEADERSHIP
Dear BNS,
This year marks ten years of our kindergarten classes enjoying Shore School, their guiding study across the school year.
How did Shore School start? Back then, the Kindergarten team was inspired by the Pre-k’s Forest School programming. It was 2015, and they too, thought it was important for the kids to do some of their learning outside. Some of the teachers even went to see some international outdoor learning programs. Reflective conversations shifted to the shorelines of Brooklyn.

BNS COSTUME POLICY
New York City is a wonderful mosaic of cultures and cultural celebrations. Halloween is one of these cherished celebrations for some. We ask that it be celebrated after school, not during the school day. Please do not send children to school wearing costumes.

BROOKLYN NETS VISIT BNS
Monday, October 27
We are excited that the Brooklyn Nets trainers are once again coming to visit our third and fourth graders for a morning for a fun special event that involves team building, good sportsmanship, and exercise — additionally, the kids get T-shirts, and the school gets PE equipment.
Just to manage expectations for all, if things are the same as last year, Nets players don’t attend.
