Friends of BNS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of BNS. Run by parent volunteers, everyone is welcome to come to meetings. 

Through targeted fundraising efforts, Friends provides important financial support to the PTA and BNS making possible the funding of the science curriculum and staff, teaching artists from the Brooklyn Arts Exchange, professional development for staff, office and classroom supplies and other projects not affordable through usual Board of Ed appropriations. In these times of severe budgetary constraints, the financial support of our parent body and larger community is increasingly crucial to the continued standard of excellence our school provides.

As a 501(c)3 (a legal nonprofit organizational status) Friends of BNS cannot only fundraise through annual school events, but can also apply for foundation grants and tax-deductible donations. Funds raised by Friends of BNS are used to support art, music, science, and other educational programs, as well as improvements to our classrooms and other school facilities.
