The Earth School

Dear Earth School Parents and Guardians -

Good on you!  You got yourself a Terminator Lice Comb at pick up on Wednesday or Thursday this week.  You are ready, no matter what comes your way.

DON'T HAVE YOUR LICE COMB YET??  DON'T WORRY!!

We'll be there at pick up again on Friday December 8th, and you can always swing by the ESPA office and grab yourself a lice comb.  Free of Charge!!

In case you were wondering - the next school wide lice checks will be happening after the December/New Year break (early Jan 2018).  After that we will do 2 more school-wide lice checks after the February 2018 and April (Spring) 2018 breaks.

In the meantime, you got your comb - now what?  Well, here's some more info to get you into the lice-combing spirit.

Prevention is key!

-Long hair should be worn up in a braid or a bun.

-Make a lice repelling product part of your morning routine.  Fairy Tales makes a nice Repel Spray but it is easy enough to make your own with a carrier oil like olive or coconut and any number of essential oils. Lice really do not like peppermint oil, but there are a number of other essential oils they are also not fond of. Google them and see what works best for your child and
family. Apply to back of ears and nape of neck.

-Check your child’s head for lice or nits(lice eggs) often. Turn every hug into an opportunity for a closer look at your child’s scalp.

- Share good times, not hats.  Let’s use our heads for thinking and not as breeding grounds for lice. Lice are passed from head to head, don’t give them an opportunity to do so.

Did all this and you still have lice?
