Notice from the Superintendent:
Higley Schools Closed through March 27
Dear HUSD Staff and Families,
I want you to know that my team and I have been monitoring the COVID-19 developments and have been in daily communication over the past week.
On Sunday, March 15, the Governor and the Arizona Department of Education announced a statewide two-week school closure, beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, 2020. We are following the directions of the State, and will continue to monitor our own situation to determine the best course of action for our District.
Last week, HUSD took a proactive lead to have any staff who could work from home do so. This will continue through March 27, 2020.
Rest assured that my team will continue to meet over these upcoming weeks to design plans to serve our students, staff, and community.
While there may be recommendations beyond March 27, it is my commitment to you that we will make decisions that best serve our students, staff, and community.
Please visit our COVID-19 website where there is valuable information on the disease and how to cope with and plan for this pandemic.
We will post updates daily no later than 5:00 PM.
Dr. Mike Thomason
