The mission of the Community Service Committee is to inspire, develop, and deepen ICS students' commitment to building better local and global communities through service to others, as well as to strengthen the ICS community through engagement in family oriented service projects. We plan to organize volunteer projects that allow ICS students to volunteer alongside their parents, together with friends, for the benefit of others.
We would like to introduce ourselves - we are the FO Committee Chairs:
Adrianne Fiala (first grade parent) and Jhoven Rojas (Kindergarten parent).
This year some of the events in the works include: a service day in the month of November for Thanksgiving; A toy drive for youth in foster care in December; a Martin Luther King Day event; a birthday card making workshop to provide for seniors at the Hopkins Nursing Care Center (where a fellow parent works); and a Food Drive through City Harvest towards the end of the year.
Please be on the lookout for emails from us providing additional information - we will also be sending out monthly emails with community service opportunities where you can participate on your own with your families.
