ANNUAL FUND DRIVE - Now Through September 30th

Hey Thunderbirds,

Thanks to the tremendous team work of our Thornhill staff, our incredible students and our dedicated parents, the transition back to campus has been smooth! We are always so impressed by how our Thornhill community comes together to support our school.

This year, the Parent Faculty Club (PFC) will spend an average of $1,000 per student to provide programs and personnel that are not covered by state or federal funding. The Annual Fund is the PFC’s first and most significant fundraising effort of the school year. Our mission is to raise money to support educational experiences that would otherwise not exist at our school. 

We are aiming for 100% participation and accept donations all year round with installment options. While the suggested donation amount is $1,000 per student, we welcome contributions of any size.

If you take a look at the schedule your teacher(s) presented during Back to School Night, you can see how Art, Library, PE, Gardening and Music is blended into your kids’ weekly school schedule. The PFC funds these classes! 

Another significant way the Annual Fund supports our students is by providing FIVE Teacher Aides. With the absence of parent volunteers on campus (for now), the presence of Teacher Aides within the classroom is now more important than ever.

Class Participation = Popsicle Party!

During the month of September, we will announce participation percentages by class in the Thornhill newsletter. We are aiming for 100% participation, giving whatever amount you are able.

The classroom with the highest % participation by September 30th will receive a class popsicle party and a surprise Thornhill swag item! 

Easy Ways to Donate

Via Check - A donation form with a yellow, addressed envelope will be sent home in your child’s backpack this week. Please make checks payable to “Thornhill PFC” and use the stamped envelope to mail the form and check to Annual Fund at 1792 Indian Way, Oakland, CA 94611.

Online - Visit givebutter.com/thornhillannualfund to make your one time donation or to set up installments. We accept credit, debit, PayPal, Venmo and other digital wallets.

Company Matching - Company matching doubles your donation! To see if your employer offers matching gifts, visit Charity Navigator and follow the simple instructions to submit a match request online.

If your company does not process match requests online, a matching gift form must be submitted with the donation form.
