CORRECTED DATE for Morning Mingle (Wed. August 10): A hearty welcome from your PFC co-presidents
Tue, Aug 9 11:01am

Welcome to the Thunderdomebirds!

With school starting tomorrow (!!!), we want to take a minute to welcome all our new and returning Thunderbird families and let you know that your Thornhill Parent-Faculty Club (PFC) is swinging into action. Fun fact, as a Thornhill family, you are already a member of the PFC!

There will be lots of opportunities to learn more and participate, starting with our first PFC meeting tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 16 (we will confirm asap). The first meeting will be over Zoom to make this busy time a little more convenient for folks, and because we’ll all be gathering in person for Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 17. Stay tuned for more details. And this Wednesday, August 10 (corrected date, sorry!), please stop by the back-to-school mingle from 8:40-9am near the fig tree on the school yard.

Thornhill’s PFC plays an enormous role in helping our school and community thrive, funding even core roles including our instructional aides, librarian, and P.E. coach, along with many educational supplies and resources. We also fund, plan, and host community events throughout the year, the biggest being our spring auction—returning parents can attest to the fact that after two years of not being able to party in person, 2022’s event was downright glorious.

Involvement with the PFC is an incredible way to get to know other families, and there are ways to volunteer even if you have limited free time and energy (we honestly don’t have a ton of either and we’re the co-presidents).

We’ll share more information in the coming days and weeks about upcoming events and open roles, but in the meantime, please reach out with any questions to president@thornhillschool.org. You can also email us with your bets on how many items there will be in the lost and found at the end of the first week, winner gets someone else’s unlabeled jacket.

Have fun out there!
