Hi Thornhill Families,
This is an important reminder to sign up now for our annual Walkathon on Saturday, November 2nd from 10am-4pm! This is one of our biggest fundraisers and it helps support our library, music and art programs, computers, PE and more. The kids collect flat donations and walk laps to earn prizes (and they sleep so well that night). We have raised just 20% of our $20,000 goal so far. All participants get a T-shirt, plus they’ll earn prizes as they walk!
Beyond the donations, this event builds community. Make friends, volunteer at a station, find your Lost & Found items, swap some books, and get fingerprinted to volunteer in the classroom! Rëdtomatoës will be on-site from 10am-1pm to offer fingerprinting services. It is $37 per person by cash, check or charge. Be sure to bring ID.
Please note that ALL of our Lost & Found items will be donated after the Walkathon on Saturday, November 2. Be extra careful with your items next week! If you're thinking “but I haven’t lost anything” - well, that’s what we all think but nevertheless, the Lost & Found is full. :)
We are having our Book Swap again! Drop off your TK-5 age-appropriate books in the lobby next week. Please, no torn or marked pages, activity/coloring books, puzzle books, or books with batteries. All unclaimed books will be donated to the East Bay Children’s Book Project.
Thanks from your 2019 “Walk the Tightrope” Walkathon committee!
