Hello Thunderbirds,

We are excited to officially launch this year’s Annual Fund Drive, running now through September 30!

The Annual Fund is the Thornhill Parent-Faculty Club’s (PFC) first and most significant fundraising effort of the school year with a goal of $260,000 - our biggest year yet! Your contributions directly bridge critical district budget gaps, ensuring we can maintain essential staff, enrichment programs, and classroom resources that make Thornhill special, including:

• Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA): Focuses on school-wide academic support, curriculum planning, schedule optimization, teacher coaching, and professional development. Additionally, our TSA leads the Junior Coach program, providing upper-grade students with meaningful leadership opportunities on campus and beyond.

• Teacher Aides for Student Support (TASS): Provide targeted, small-group learning support to help students meet their academic goals, and supervise and organize activities to ensure recess and lunch are fun, safe, and positive experiences for everyone.

• Early Literacy Tutor (ELT): Delivers specialized, small-group reading instruction (currently using the SIPPS curriculum) to give students extra support in phonics, decoding, and foundational reading confidence.

• Special Programs: Dedicated instruction in PE, Library, and Gardening.

• Teacher & Classroom Support: Funding for teacher stipends, classroom supplies, and essential school programs.

This year’s increased budget directly addresses district-wide cuts across OUSD, helping us preserve the high-quality education and support our Thornhill community expects and deserves.

Levels of Support: Every student benefits immediately from your generosity. We ask each family to consider making a donation that is meaningful for their financial situation. While our suggested donation is $1,100 per student, what matters most is participation; a gift of any size makes a difference. Our shared goal is 100% family participation, with everyone contributing in a way that works best for them.

Each week of September we will share progress updates along with PFC Spotlights that showcase how Thornhill’s special community is shaped in part by contributions of our families.

Your contribution to the Annual Fund might be eligible for a company match, doubling your impact! To request a match, submit your receipt to your employer’s matching online gift portal or check with your HR department.
