Thornhill's Read-a-thon!
Tue, Mar 16 - Fri, Apr 2
Thornhill Elementary
From Monday, March 15th - Friday, April 2nd, both at home and with classes, our Thornhill students will focus on reading as a community. Everyone is welcome to be a part of this and we will celebrate participation and success along the way!

ADD YOUR READER TO THE READ-A-THON!

Follow the instructions by searching for your classroom teacher. Students can begin recording minutes read on Monday, March 15.

The Read-a-thon is a fundraiser for the Parent Faculty Club (PFC), which provides funding for the library and PFC staff. Any and all support is very much appreciated. But most importantly, everyone is welcome to join in the reading fun!

All Thornhill "bookworms" who activate their Read-a-Thon page can pick up some tasty gummy (book) worms from Thornhill, on Alhambra Lane, starting today, Friday March 12.

(If you require an alternative to standard gummy worms, please contact marie.fox@ousd.org).

Check out this Read-a-thon site for more information and resources to keep your student engaged. Prizes for top readers and fundraisers in each classroom will be gift certificates to local bookstores. Teachers and staff will be encouraging our readers throughout: stay tuned for activities (make a bookmark! create your own book cover! share a shelfie!) and videos (they might just see a favorite teacher get a pie in the face - or the librarian dye her hair bright colors!) to cheer them on.

Thank you for your support of our amazing readers!
