Creating a calendar of events to be thrown by BAC to welcome new BIPOC families and faculty to the Thornhill community Partner with the PFC on Back to School Night, Fall Festival and other events to ensure inclusivity. Officers would like to request a member of this group fill the PFC Fall Festival Chair(s) role. It could be a team, not limited to one person Attend school welcome/summer play dates to meet new families and encourage them to get involved in the BAC and PFC and community as a whole.

School Equity Lesson Planning & Training Signed Up: 2 / 5

Partner with Mr. Daubenspeck on any equity and anti-racist training and curriculum being brought and implemented in the school. Ensure new programming is properly integrated and communicated to the community including goals of new resources and implementation timelines and target audiences Vet materials/lessons and advise on BAC and parent engagement needs.

Policies and Procedures Signed Up: 4 / 10

Work with PFC and Mr. Daubenspeck to develop Community Standards for Thornhill that are integrated into the fabric of the school. Ensure they reflect inclusive and equitable verbiage. Recommend integration into events and other school areas (i.e. student assemblies and teacher lesson planning). Partner with the Office of Equity on OUSD policies and procedures surrounding racial incident response and discipline matrix, and more. Possible Thornhill representation at the OUSD and the LCAP Parent & Student Advisory Committee (PSAC) or (CEEBSE) Black Student Engagement Committee of the LCAP. Partner with Arcelia Gonzalez and Lailan Huen in the Office of Equity.
