Hello Viking Families!

The PTA is beginning the process of building next year’s Board, and we are currently seeking nominees for four open leadership roles. These positions need to be filled before our April PTA meeting so the association can vote on the new Board at that time.

Serving on the PTA Board is a meaningful way to support Valle Verde, help shape school programs and events, and strengthen the connection between families and our school community.

PTA Board elections for the 2026–2027 school year will take place at the April 14 PTA meeting. (You must be a PTA member to vote.)

Open Board Positions

President
• Oversees and coordinates the work of the executive board
• Presides at PTA board and association meetings
• Serves as the official PTA representative and communicator
• Authorized signer for PTA checks and contracts
• Ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee
• Works with PTA leaders to connect families, school, and community to support student success

VP of Safety
• Partners with the school on emergency and disaster preparedness plans
• Helps ensure emergency backpack supplies are maintained
• Manages the school’s lost and found

Treasurer
• Maintains records of PTA funds and financial transactions
• Chairs the budget committee and prepares the annual budget
• Pays authorized PTA bills
• Provides financial reports at meetings and prepares the annual financial report
• Ensures required taxes and reports are submitted on time

Parliamentarian
• Assists the president with meeting management and parliamentary procedure
• Chairs the bylaws committee and reviews bylaws annually
• Coordinates the nominating committee’s first meeting and supports the nomination process
