A group of Walnut Creek parents have launched Wait Till Northgate, a community effort encouraging families to delay smartphones until high school.

Many families are finding that waiting helps support sleep, focus, and more face-to-face connection during the elementary and middle school years. The goal is to make this an easier choice by doing it together, so kids aren’t the only ones without a smartphone.

Valle Verde already has families participating, and the numbers are growing across local schools.
