Dear Valle Verde Families,
The Art Docent Program has gotten off to an amazing start under the leadership and teaching of Michelle Foster, culminating in the incredible art displays at the Orchards!
As 2021 comes to a close, we are preparing for the continuation of the Art Docent Program in 2022 and are excited to be returning to the original format of the program with family volunteers teaching the designated art lesson to each class beginning in January.
To keep art going for our students, we are requesting 3 volunteers per class to teach an art lesson along with set-up and clean-up of the art room and assisting students throughout the lesson once per month from January through May.
No art or teaching experience is needed. A sample of the completed project along with the lesson curriculum will be available. Each class will have an hour lesson once per month in the art classroom (A2) with all art supplies available. For those who volunteered in the past, we promise limited tempera paint projects!
Please remember all volunteers must be cleared through the MDUSD volunteer program and show proof of COVID vaccination to the office.
We will be finalizing schedules with teachers and creating sign-ups for each lesson. Sign-up requests will come through Konstella as soon as dates are set. In the meantime, please reach out to us with any questions, ideas or inspirations to help with the Art Docent Program.
The students enjoy the time in the art room and the exposure to different art mediums and projects. We look forward to your partnership to keep the art lessons going!
