Dear Families,
Right now, we do not have confirmed volunteers for PTA President and Treasurer for next year. Without those roles filled, we do not have a functioning PTA. It’s easy to assume “PTA will figure it out.” But without those roles filled, we do not have a functioning PTA.
These are the programs, resources, and experiences that the PTA makes possible and, simply put, will not happen without it:
Student Support & Learning
-
Instructional aides & reading intervention specialist
-
DREAM Committee programming (Diversity, Representation, Equity, Action & Multiculturalism)

-
Software & technology devices, learning platforms, and classroom equipment (including basics like ink and toner)
Staff & Classroom Support
-
Teaching supplies and teacher allocations (currently $30 per student across 535 students… that’s over 16k just gone from the teachers who educate your children)

If we don’t have leadership, we don’t have a PTA. Some of these things the district does not fund at all or drastically underfunds. We are less than a month away from needing to finalize next year’s board at the April 14 meeting.
Our kids need us to overcome the: “I don’t have time,” “I wouldn’t know what to do,” “Someone else will step up”
But please know you will not be doing this alone. There is support, structure, and a team ready to help. But we do need you!
If you care about what Valle Verde offers our kids, please step up and reach out to our Parliamentarian Jessica Young (jessicalyoung10@gmail.com) to learn more or volunteer for President or Treasurer.
