THANK YOU for making our 8th Annual Viking Fun Run: RUN WILD the success that it was!

Six weeks ago, we set a goal of more than doubling our previous years’ fundraising efforts by raising $100,000 and increasing schoolwide participation to 70%. With your support, 79% of our students participated in our fundraising efforts, and we raised more than $128,000... and counting!

I think it’s safe to say: we SMASHED our goals.

The committee and I are blown away by the generosity of this community. We say all the time that it takes every Viking to sail this ship, and you showed exactly what that means. When our community rallies around a shared cause, every registration, request, donation, volunteer shift, and act of support adds up to something incredible.

A few special thank-yous from today:

• Mr. Doug is the MVP of every event we host. From opening gates early to making sure each space is ready for whatever comes next, he works tirelessly for our school, daily, before the crack of dawn. Please thank him the next time you see him!
• Our teachers, office team, and staff were all-in today, just as they are every day. There were a number of changes to our event flow that made everything smoother for our kids; we are uniquely blessed to have a collaborative school community that is second to none. 
• More than 100 volunteers helped across our Fun Runs throughout the day. Today simply could not have happened without you. You kept everything running smoothly, safely, and, most importantly, made it FUN for our kids.

There are so many individual accomplishments represented in those numbers, but the biggest win belongs to our entire Valle Verde community. 415 students participated, every grade level helped move us toward our goal, and together we raised more for our school than we ever have before.

From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the Valle Verde PTA, thank you for showing up, pitching in, and helping make RUN WILD such an unforgettable day!
