RUN WILD. SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL.Viking Fun Run • Friday, September 25
The Viking Fun Run is more than a day of running. It is a schoolwide effort that brings our students together around getting outside, school spirit, teamwork, and giving back to Valle Verde.
This year, our goal is big: $100,000 and 70%+ schoolwide participation.
Funds raised through our PTA help provide programs and resources our students experience throughout the school year, including instructional support, reading intervention, garden education, physical education, technology, classroom resources, and other student programs and experiences.
Our first goal: get every family involved.
We know fundraising can feel like one more thing on a family's plate, so we are making getting started as simple as possible through PledgeStar.

Register by Saturday, August 22!
Our first Fun Run class challenge is all about participation—not dollars raised.
The class with the highest percentage of students registered by Saturday will earn our first class prize.
No donation or fundraising minimum is required to count toward this challenge. Simply registering your student helps their class participate.

Then, help your Viking set a goal.
On September 25, every student will have 20 minutes to run, jog or walk with their classmates.
Students will be talking in class about setting their own lap goal and thinking of a few people who might want to support them. This is a great opportunity for students to practice goal setting and see what we can accomplish when our entire school works together.
And there is another goal to work toward:
Raise $250 by September 13 → Earn the official RUN WILD Fun Run T-shirt!
We’ll also be celebrating class participation, fundraising milestones, and schoolwide progress throughout the campaign.

Many employers will match charitable donations, sometimes doubling the impact of a gift. If you or one of your donors works for a company with a matching-gift program, please take a moment to submit the match.
Every gift—large or small—and every family that participates moves us closer to our goal.
We want this fundraiser to be something our students feel proud to be part of, not something families feel pressured by. Registering, sharing the page, cheering on your student, volunteering on Fun Run day or simply helping spread the word are all meaningful ways to participate.
