This is technically not an October event, but the kids need to be thinking about it now if they want to participate. All Vallejo Mill students who love to express themselves through art are invited to enter Reflections, a National Art program and competition that encourages students TK through 12th grade to create original artwork and be recognized for their creation.
Artwork is judged- with those going onto the district level competing with all PTA schools in Fremont! There is a district wide ceremony for those who go on.
Students who participate will also be recognized at the school level!
Get your artist student involved and take advantage of this great opportunity for expression.
Students may enter in one or more of the following categories to reflect this year's theme, "Within Reach":
(note the theme is the most important thing to focus on- how does your work address this topic)
For more information or questions, contact VME's PTA Reflections Art program Chair, Heather Zeng : firstname.lastname@example.org
Rules for EACH category can be found at http://downloads.capta.org/
The application form is also at this location (and attached)
Again, parents make sure the artwork reflects the theme. The artist statement is the most important part of the project! Take time with this.
Submissions are due Friday, November 3. Kindly turn them in to the office.
See the application form attached below! Also, these are general rules- do see these and the link above for full guidance!
