The Darcie Jones Book Drive is this week, May 15-19. We are collecting new and gently used books for ages 11 and under. These books will benefit the Meadow Homes Elementary Summer Reading Program. Please drop off donations by the office. Children’s books ONLY!

This community service drive was named after Darcie Jones, a Walnut Acres parent who started a book drive in the Spring of 1994 to benefit the summer reading program at Meadow Homes Elementary School in Concord. After she died of cancer on December 31, 1996, the PFC renamed the book drive “The Darcie Jones Book Drive” and planted a tree outside the 3rd grade wing in honor of all that she had contributed to Walnut Acres Elementary School.
