Jog-A-Thon: three people today
Mon, Nov 2 8:47am

Donations are open for Jog-A-Thon!

Here's the part that actually matters.

Your kid's job is to think of the people who'd want to cheer for them. Your job is to hit send.

Most of our students last year had exactly one person sponsor them, usually a parent. The kids who did best had five or six sponsors. They weren't from wealthier families, they just sent the link to Grandma, and then an aunt, and then the family group chat.

So today, send your child's link to three people. A grandparent. An aunt or uncle. Someone who lives far away and would love to see your kid run.

A sponsor is one person who donates, whatever they give. Five people giving $10 each is five sponsors. One person giving $200 is one. Some of these prizes go on that count.

  • Top fundraiser: extra recess for their whole class
  • Golden Shoe, most laps overall, and their class gets a pizza party

Class awards

  • Top three classes by dollars raised: pizza party

  • The Golden Shoe winner's class: pizza party

Grown-ups too

  • Teacher whose class has the most sponsors: pizza
  • Most Enthusiastic Parent: up to three, for the parents who rally their class the most. Their kids get to join in silly stringing Principal B

Our approved budget counts on $50,000 from the Jog-A-Thon, so that much is already spoken for. Our goal is $85,000 because that's what gets us past just covering the basics. That works out to about one more sponsor per kid than we had last year.

After you donate, don't close the window. The site asks where you work and tells you if your company matches. Most people miss it because it comes after the thank you screen.
