Looking Ahead to Summer & Back-to-School
As we wrap up another incredible school year, we wanted to share a few quick updates and a look ahead to what’s coming this summer and into the start of next year.
🙌 A Few Roles Still Open
We’re putting the finishing touches on next year’s PFC Board, but we still have a few open positions. Whether you’re looking to jump in or just curious, it’s not too late to get involved — reach out and we’re happy to chat about what might be a good fit.
- Jag Fund Co-Lead - Help continue the momentum and success of this school year!
- Outdoor Education Fundraising Co-Lead - going to have a 4th grader in the fall? Help raise funds to offset the cost of 5th Grade Outdoor Education the following year.
- After School Enrichment Co-Lead - Coordinate the vendors that offer these amazing hands-on experiences for our students.
- Sustainability Coordinator - Help us keep Walnut Acres green and with an eye for sustainability

- Mini Sports Camps: June 4th, 7th, 11th, 14th. Kick off summer and help our rising 5th graders fundraise for Outdoor Ed. Open to rising 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders (non-WA families welcome too!). See full details and sign up here.
- Jag Day: August 4th, 5-7pm. Class assignments + BTS fun
- First Day of School: August 6th
- Back to School at the Ballpark: August 7th 7:15pm game. Giants game & family fun! Tickets available via link below.

Join Walnut Acres families for a fun night out at the San Francisco Giants game! Come celebrate the start of the school year with friends, family, baseball, and community spirit at Oracle Park.
We’ll all be seated together, making it a great opportunity for Walnut Acres families to connect, cheer on the Giants, and enjoy a memorable night together.

Eco Yogis Summer Camp at Mount Diablo Yoga
Still looking to fill some summer weeks? Great news! 🌞 Join us for a fun and meaningful week at our Eco Yogis Summer Camp at Mount Diablo Yoga Center! Designed for children ages 8–11, campers will explore yoga, mindfulness, creativity, nutrition, and sustainability in a playful, supportive, and engaging environment.
Our 5-day camp runs Monday–Friday from 9:00am–12:30pm and is the perfect mix of movement, learning, and connection. 🐦 EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: Sign up before June 1 for $50 off.

The BEST Reading Program is a step-by-step system designed to help parents support their K–2nd grade child’s reading development at home. Grounded in the Science of Reading, it breaks learning into 12 clear steps with easy-to-follow lessons, videos, and engaging activities—no teaching experience needed.
The program was created by a Walnut Acres Elementary teacher with over 30 years of experience.
A portion of proceeds gives back to and supports the Walnut Acres PFC.

Camp Galileo Gives Back!

Support Your Student(s) & Our School!
Sign up for Mathnasium, The Math Learning Center. 
Mathnasium will donate $10 EVERY MONTH to our PFC for each and every WAE student enrolled in their program. (This is not only for newly enrolled students. It’s for ALL enrolled students from WAE every single month.)
Anyone and everyone can be a great math student, and expert help is right up the road at our local Mathnasium in The Orchards plaza.
