This spring (for third year in a row), Walnut Acres will participate in the International Math Kangaroo Competition. Math Kangaroo's goal is to encourage students to learn mathematics by presenting them with problems that are interesting and by rewarding their efforts. In 2019, more than 30,000 students in the US participated in the Math Kangaroo competition. Four Walnut Acres students won prizes. Each participant will get a T-shift, a certificate for participation and a small gift on the competition day.
In addition to the competition, practice sessions will be organized from Jan to Mar, 2020. They will be held on Saturdays or Sundays at the Ygnacio Valley Library on Oak Grove Rd. Participation in practice session is optional. Practice problems will be posted in the Math Kangaroo Group on Konstella
This year, the competition will take place all over the world on Thursday, March 19, 2020.Registration is now open online at Math Kangaroo Registration.
