Hello Walnut Acres Families,

 

It was so great seeing all the smiling masked faces at Jag Day. In the event you were unable to make it, here are the steps you can take to get ready for the first day of school:

 

  1. Get your teacher assignments:
    1. Log into Homelink to find your child’s teacher assignment tomorrow
      1. While you’re there, update your information and print/save your emergency card.
    2. Email ortegay@mdusd.org for your teacher assignment
  2. Submit your Emergency Card
    1. Drop off your form in person to the office before school starts Thursday or
    2. Email your emergency card to the office at ortegay@mdusd.org
  3. Join your classroom on Konstella
    1. Konstella Website:
      1. Click on your Name on the bar on the right hand side.
      2. Select “Your Children”
      3. Under Classroom, Click on “Join Classroom”. 
      4. Click on the appropriate Classroom/Teacher Name.
      5. Your children and your parent record are now a part of that classroom.
      6. Repeat for additional children.
    2. Konstella’s Mobile App:
      1. Click on the Settings Cog Icon in the upper left hand corner/Click on the Messages tab
      2. Click on “Your Children”
      3. Select your child’s name.
      4. Click on “Please select your classroom”
      5. Click on the appropriate Classroom/Teacher Name.
      6. Your children and your parent record are now a part of that classroom.
      7. Repeat for additional children.
  4. Purchase your Classroom Emergency Food Kit
  5. Review School Supply List
  6. Purchase your yearbook at www.yearbookordercenter.com Our School Code is 10053. The price of the yearbook is $25 until 10/31/21. After 11/1/21 the price increases to $35. You can also purchase and create congratulatory ads for your 5th grade student on the same site.
  7. Donate to the Jag Fund
  8. Sign-up for Parent Square
  9. Purchase Spirit Wear
  10. Sign up for open PFC board positions

 

A few other announcements:

  1. Back to School Coffee has been cancelled this year as the campus is limited to students & staff only. However we are brainstorming ways to celebrate the start of school somewhere off campus
  2. The first PFC meeting of the year is on August 17th at 7pm. The meeting will be held on Zoom. Check your email and Konstella for the meeting link.
  3. The yearbook committee is looking for parents interested in training to take over for the 2022-2023 school year. If interested, please contact yearbook@walnutacrespfc.net
