WALNUT ACRES READ-A-THON 2022-2023!
Travel to another time and place with a good book during this year’s Read-A-Thon, “Adventure Begins With a Book.” The Read-A-Thon will be held from Monday, November 14th to Monday, November 28th.
The Read-A-Thon is a fundraiser that challenges students to use their most important academic skill, READING, to directly support our school. The money raised goes to sustain our PFC-initiatives such as reading and math specialists, teaching assistants, science aides, and our STEM instructor. Read-A-Thon flyers and envelopes will be sent home with information on how to participate. You’ll also soon be receiving an email with a link to your student’s personal online fundraising page. “ADVENTURE BEGINS WITH A BOOK” KICK-OFF EVENT ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15th
We will celebrate the 2022 Walnut Acres Read-A-Thon, “Adventure Begins With a Book,” with a special “Books After Breakfast” event starting at 7:45 AM. Students will get a sticker and learn more about participating in the Read-A-Thon.
“ADVENTURE BEGINS WITH A BOOK” DRESS-UP DAY ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18th
On Friday, November 18th, students are invited to come to school dressed up as their favorite fictional characters. They can express themselves by dressing up as the artist, princess, scientist, pirate, detective, superhero, astronaut, etc., who inspires them. No masks, please.
