Get those books ready...American Ninja Reader, Walnut Creek edition is coming to Walnut Acres Elementary tomorrow, Monday November 13th!
The theme of the 2017-2018 Read-A-Thon is American Ninja Reader - A workout for your brain! It kicks off this coming Monday and will run through November 30th.
What is Read-A-Thon?
The Read-A-Thon is a school-wide fundraiser that challenges students to use one of their most important academic skills, READING, to support our school. It is a fun way to encourage your child's imagination, get them to dive into a good book, develop a healthy habit of daily reading (yes it's possible), and spark conversations on topics that interest them; all to proudly raise money directly for Walnut Acres Elementary.
This incredible fundraiser is a key a contributor to our annual PFC budget which goes to sustain PFC-funded initiatives such as grade-level aides, reading specialists, science aides, and art and music. Last year we raised more than $30,000 from this event! Really incredible right? Our goal is to match that number this year and involve even more families in the process. Together we can encourage every student to participate in this event!
A Few Details
-- Your student will come home with their fundraising packet on Monday, which will explain the details about the fundraiser.
-- We'll be using 99pledges.com as our online donation tool again this year. You will receive your email with the link to your child's fundraising page TODAY!
-- All donations and reading logs are due on Friday, 12/1.
-- The fundraiser runs through Thanksgiving break. This is a great chance to give your student time to relax, read...and collect sponsorships from friends and family.
A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who have already donated their time and are helping to make this fundraiser a success!
