Dear Walnut Acres Community,
I hope this message finds you well and that you are staying healthy and safe. I am enjoying our time as a family but we also really miss our school and our friends and look forward to when we go back.
I wanted to write to thank ALL of you for your tremendous support for our auction. This was an exciting year-long process with an unexpected, yet fabulous, ending. Everything turned upside down the week of our planned Auction Gala. Due to the unforeseen circumstances, the Auction Team had to completely reassess our goals and expectations. In an effort to maximize our fundraising for the school, we called on the whole Walnut Acres community to support us and step up to help in every way possible. The team worked incredibly hard to ensure that our virtual “live” auction was successful, but never in our wildest dreams did we expect what happened that night.
We received encouraging messages and endless offers of help and when we asked for something you responded! I'm sure I speak for the whole team when I say that we were all nervous about how last Friday night would turn out, yet that night turned out to be incredible! We were amazed by the community's generosity - you took “stepping it up” to a whole new level!
So what was the result? We greatly exceeded our expectations. The bar had been set really high by the auction team the year prior, and, thanks to all of you, we raised over $20,000 more, for a total fundraising effort of $173,000! None of us in the team could believe it, but the Walnut Acres community came through in ways I cannot even begin to describe… and what’s best is that it was a really fun night (greatly thanks to our awesome host, Hillary)!
Thank you, Walnut Acres community! Thank you! Your donations and support will allow us to preserve programs, activities and staffing that make our school so special. Thank you for reminding us that we should be SO proud to be part of Walnut Acres!
I also really need to emphasize that this result would not have been possible without every single person on our auction team. This team was the dream team! We always had each other's backs and we all worked tirelessly to make sure that everything was done right. I personally feel blessed to have been part of this team and for all the precious friendships that came out of it.
I ask that you please thank this auction’s team members when you see them! I want to especially thank Holly Guy and Anna Halverson for the critical role they played in every aspect of this auction. The whole team was fantastic!
