Library Checkouts
All students, except kindergarten students, received a lesson last week from our librarian, Deanna Nixon, on how to use the Google Form and the library catalog to find a book to checkout. We are still working out the details on how kindergartners will be able to check out books. Students will have until October 25th to submit their requests on a first come, first served basis. Once we have an idea of the number of students requesting books, we can decide the best way for students to pick up books, and she will schedule the dates for each grade level. Link to check-out instructions is here:

Halloween Parade, October 30, 2:00pm
Hey Jaguars! We miss you. Let us see you in those costumes! Students and families are welcome to dress up and showcase their costumes in their front yard while teachers parade through the neighborhood in their cars. Everyone must maintain social distance and do not approach the vehicles. Here is the map to our parade route:

Daily Attendance
Daily attendance is important. Regular attendance guidelines still apply during distance learning. Call the school to report your child’s absence. Please consider traveling during the long weekends or over the holidays. Teachers work hard to prepare for lessons and class activities, and we would hate to have students miss class. But if you will be away from 5 - 20 consecutive days, you may request for an independent study. Your student may be dropped if absences are longer than 20 consecutive school days.
Parent Teacher Conferences and Report Cards
Teachers will be reaching out to you soon if they have not already scheduled a time for a virtual Parent Teacher Conference, October 19-30. Note corrected dates. Appointments will be available before school or after school (not during live interactive minutes - the Zoom sessions). Let your child’s teacher know if these times do not work for you.
During these two weeks, and based on the teachers’ contract, they may choose to reduce their live interactive minutes by no more than 30 minutes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays so they can prepare for Parent Teacher Conferences.
Since the trimester ends on Nov. 6, report cards will not be ready and available during the Parent Teacher Conferences. Teachers will have student data and work to share with you. The report cards will be sent to parents via email or during the weekly Pick Up on November 20.
Keep calm and Jaguar on!
