Read-A-Thon begins Monday, November 15th

Calling all reading super stars! This year's Read-A-Thon will be held Nov. 15th - Nov. 29th with the theme "Together We Shine". The Read-A-Thon is a fundraiser that challenges students to use their most important academic skill, READING, to directly support our school. The money raised goes to sustain our PFC-initiatives such as reading and math specialists, teaching assistants, science aides, and our STEM instructor. Read-A-Thon flyers and envelopes are currently being sent home this week with information on how to participate. You'll also soon be receiving an email with a link to your student's personal online fundraising page. Please visit the PFC website for more information.

Please also check out the Read-A-Thon Konstella announcement to learn more about the Gift Basket Raffle and Dress-Up Day.

Spirit Wear Distribution Information

Spirit Wear orders placed through Konstella at the start of the school year were distributed by teachers Thursday, October 14th.

Due to a printing error on the back of the SHiNE T-shirts and long sleeve shirts, our vendor is replacing these items. Replacement SHiNE shirts will be distributed this week. If you purchased a SHiNE t-shirt or long sleeve shirt, a message will be sent from the Konstella Spirit Wear Sale page with the exact date to expect your replacement items. Original shirts do NOT need to be returned.

Upcoming Spirit Wear Sales
If you missed out on Spirit Wear at the beginning of the year (or just need more), there will be a second Spirit Wear Sale in December or January featuring the 2021 items and limited quantities of stock and sample items from past years. Please check back for updates and watch for sales announcements on Konstella.

Lunch Duty volunteers needed

The sign-ups for lunch duty volunteers have been extended through November. We need parents daily to help supervise students during lunch and on the playground to make sure they play safely, as well as assist in cleaning the tables between student lunch shifts. A sign-up for Wednesday shifts was also added on Konstella.
*A reminder that to volunteer on campus, you must be fingerprinted, have a current TB test AND be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with your proof of vaccination on file with the office. TB tests are good for four years. Parents of 4th & 5th graders - it may be time to redo your TB test! The Minute Clinic at CVS Pharmacy on Bancroft Rd. does walk-in TB tests. For more information on volunteering check out the MDUSD website.*
