City of Walnut Creek “Idle Free” campaign

From the Recycle Club: Maybe you have noticed a "Idle Free" sign in         the pick-up/drop-off zone the past couple of days. The City of Walnut   Creek is promoting the “Idle Free” campaign in our community. Idling happens whenever a vehicle’s engine is left running when it is parked. This is a common occurrence at schools when parents wait in their cars to pick up children. Emissions from vehicle idling contribute significantly to air pollution and public health problems. Please support our efforts and turn off your vehicle while parked for more than 30 seconds.
