Science Fair is this Thursday!

Come out and see what our little scientists have been up to in preparation for the fair! Times to visit and learn are  from 2:30-4:00 and  6:30-8:00. Please show your support for this amazing event and the kids!

Online Auction Begins Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 8, 2023

The online auction opens tomorrow, for ALL Walnut Acres families (no ticket required), and it's your chance to secure exclusive experiences and great deals - all while supporting our school!

Items up for bid include:

Online bidding will be open February 8 through February 15th

Items go fast, so remember to log on early. All funds raised through auction go directly to support our kids, and bids over market value are tax deductible for you. So, get ready to bid!

 

Wine Donations are needed for our Auction Gala!

You can help make this year's auction gala successful and fun by donating wine for our event. We are looking to collect a wide range of red, white, bubbly and rosé wine selections ($20 and up) for our guests to enjoy. We are also hoping to collect some high-end bottles to generate extra excitement!

PFC Board Nominating Committee

Do you have about 1-2 hours a month for the next 4 months to help us make sure we get all our board positions filled for the next school year?  Be a part of the nominating committee.  As part of the committee, you'll work with 2-3 others to draft communications to send out, prepare any votes that need to take place for individual roles and get the full slate prepared for final vote at the May General meeting.  All can be done from the comfort of your home!

Drive Thru

5th Grade Parents- February is your month to host Drive-Thru!

5th Grade Parents: Please help us in the Drive Thru line as we open doors and greet students while they are arriving at school. As in previous years, we are having each grade level help out at the Drive Thru during specific months. We would appreciate 2-4 helpers each day. Can you help for 20 minutes in the morning, 7:40 - 8:00 am? If so, please sign up!

5th Grade Parents and Caregivers sign up HERE!

Here’s what to expect in the coming months in terms of the monthly volunteer schedule:

February: 5th Grade 
March: 4th Grade 
April: 3rd Grade 
May: 2nd Grade

And all of the Walnut Acres Dads and Grandpas, remember that Friday’s are for YOU!  Come help out at Drive-Thru line.  It’s an easy way to get involved in the school community!

Important Message! Please make sure to drive SLOWLY in our Walnut Acres School Zone and please observe all “No Parking” signs.  It’s crucial for the safety of students!

Lunch & Recess Duty sign-ups

 We need parents daily to help supervise students during lunch and on the playground to make sure they play safely, as well as assist in cleaning the tables between student lunch shifts. All volunteers must be cleared by MDUSD to help at lunch. Sign-up HERE

                Say  it in Lights! 

Support the PFC and put a smile on your child's face! For $25.00, the greeting “Happy Birthday ‘Your Child’s Name’” will be on display on the Walnut Acres' electronic Marquee from 7am-9pm on your date of choice. Click HERE to purchase.
Is your child’s birthday during the summer? Consider a “half-birthday” greeting 6 months after their birthday.

The deadline for submitting an order is one week prior to your child's birthday.

Drive Thru Procedures

  • Pull up to a volunteer for assistance getting your student out of the car
  • Do NOT get out of your car 
  • Have your child ready (goodbyes said, backpack ready) to exit curbside
  • Do NOT go around other cars if you are "empty"
  • Do NOT park in the drive thru line
