Next Tuesday, September 26th is our next Dine & Donate night! This time, we’re heading to Jack’s Urban Eats in the Orchards Shopping Center to grab a meal and support our kids.

Califcraft Social Night September 29th
Come join your fellow Walnut Acres families for a fun evening at Calicraft on September 29th from 4:30-7:30! Parents can enjoy craft brews, while the kids play! Stop by and say hello or stay for the whole evening. There will be a food truck offering pizza for those who would like to purchase dinner.

Community Service Day 2023 is here!
Jaguar families mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct 14th for the annual Walnut Creek Community Service Day.
Bring friends and family from 8:30am to 11:30am for a morning of celebration and service. There are outdoor projects around Walnut Acres for all ages, interest and ability!

Math Kangaroo (Grades 1-5)
Since 2018, Walnut Acres has hosted a Math Kangaroo contest for our students (www.mathkangaroo.org). This year, the competition will take place on March 21th, and there will be informal free after-school practice sessions for interested students starting in late fall/winter. If you would like to join the Walnut Acres Math Kangaroo community or learn more, please find “Math Kangaroo” in Social Groups on Konstella. This is where all updates, practice session schedules and materials will be posted.
Registration for students opened on September 15th. Details on how to register for participation at Walnut Acres are also posted to Math Kangaroo social group on Konstella.

Drive-Thru
5th Grade Parents- September is your month to host Drive-Thru!
5th Grade Families: Please help us in the Drive Thru line as we open doors and greet students while they are arriving at school. As in previous years, we are having each grade level help out at the Drive Thru during specific months. We would appreciate 2-4 helpers each day. Can you help for 20 minutes in the morning, 7:40 - 8:00 am? If so, please sign up!

Shark Tank Youth Competition: Hosted by Campolindo High
Introducing the first Contra Costa Shark Tank Youth Competition! Win $1,000 to launch or grow your business. No idea is too small! Organized by the Entrepreneurship Club at Campolindo High, the competition is a fun way to promote youth entrepreneurship among K-12 students in Contra Costa County. When young people succeed as entrepreneurs, they improve their own lives while also contributing to the economic development of their local communities. Finalists will be selected by the Campolindo High School Entrepreneurship Club, and winners selected by a panel of judges on February 6, 2024 at the Lafayette Library.
