CURTAINS UP YOUTH THEATRE PROGRAMS
Calling all 4th and 5th Graders! This year’s big musical is THE LION KING!
A full-scale musical with Curtains Up Youth Theatre has been a tradition at Walnut Acres for over 27 years. This is the capstone of our programs and you won’t want to miss it!
This year’s show, The Lion King, has it all – great songs, fun dances, wonderful characters, and a beautiful story about the circle of life.
Now is the time to sign-up for a spot in this wonderful musical experience!

SOME KEY INFORMATION:
Group auditions will be January 9-11 (please note all registered students will have a part in the show in one of our two casts – auditions just help the directors assign roles).
Rehearsals start January 16 and go through mid-March. One cast rehearses every Tuesday/Friday and the other cast every Monday/Thursday, from 2:45 to 5:00 pm. However, there may be a few other weekdays added in February and March (due to holidays and production weeks); and full Run-through and Dress Rehearsals will run longer, to around 6 pm.
There will be 4 performances, two for each cast.
Show dates are March 15, 16, 22, and 23.

Califcraft Social Night September 29th
Come join your fellow Walnut Acres families for a fun evening at Calicraft on September 29th from 4:30-7:30! Parents can enjoy craft brews, while the kids play! Stop by and say hello or stay for the whole evening. There will be a food truck offering pizza for those who would like to purchase dinner.

Fall Carnival is approaching. Mark your calendars for September 30th (4-7pm) for loads of fun, games and carnival treats. Stay tuned for the Konstella pre-sale and volunteer sign up.

Volunteer Opportunities
- Graphic Design: Help create the logo as well as design the printed materials for the big event
- Event Execution: Help with the execution of the event from set up, check in, and gathering up the items at the end of the night- a great way to attend the event if you don’t get a ticket!
- Closing Committee: Help with the accounting and documentation of the auction to ensure we collect the funds and winners get their items.

Drive-Thru
5th Grade Parents- September is your month to host Drive-Thru!
5th Grade Families: Please help us in the Drive Thru line as we open doors and greet students while they are arriving at school. As in previous years, we are having each grade level help out at the Drive Thru during specific months. We would appreciate 2-4 helpers each day. Can you help for 20 minutes in the morning, 7:40 - 8:00 am? If so, please sign up!

Support the PFC and put a smile on your child's face! For $25.00, the greeting "Happy Birthday (Your Child’s Name)” will be on display on the Walnut Acres electronic Marquee from 7am-9pm on your date of choice. Click HERE to purchase.
Is your child’s birthday during the summer? Consider a “half-birthday” greeting 6 months after their birthday.
The deadline for submitting an order is one week prior to your child's birthday.
