1. Mid-Autumn Festival Classroom Celebrations - Monday, October 6
This traditional festival celebrates the harvest and family reunion under the full moon and is marked by traditions such as eating mooncakes, decorating lanterns, and spending time with loved ones. Classrooms will be holding special celebratory events during school. Thank you in advance for mooncake donations and volunteering in your children's classroom. There will be a school-wide celebration on the evening of Friday, October 3rd -- please see the separate calendar event on Konstella for details.

2. Fall Giving Campaign
Many are planning to give… but just haven’t clicked the “donate” button yet!  We are more than a month into Fall Fundraising Drive and only about 20% of the way there.  Every little bit helps to keep our great programs including PE, Music, STEAM, Socioemotional Learning, field trips, restorative justice and so much more.

The PTA’s spending per student is about $535 per student this school year. If you are able, please give to the PTA online by clicking here or via check to West County Mandarin School PTA,1575 Mann Dr, Pinole, CA 94564. Please check if your employer matches donations to DOUBLE your impact. The WCMS PTA is a 501(c)3 organization and our tax information is: Tax ID/EIN#: 90-1184206. 3. Pinole National Night Out - Tuesday, October 7
The Pinole Police Department is hosting a Halloween-themed National Night Out at Fernandez Park (595 Tennent Ave, Pinole, CA) on Tuesday, 10/7, from 5-8pm.


4. Teacher and Staff Appreciation Lunch - Wednesday, October 15
On Wednesday, 10/15, the PTA will host a Teacher and Staff Appreciation Lunch at the elementary campus. We are looking for families from each class to volunteer to provide food, drinks, and snacks, (enough for 4-6 people) to be delivered to the elementary school site for teachers and staff to enjoy in appreciation of all of their hard work and dedication to supporting student learning! 5. RaiseRight Fundraising

7. How to Become a Volunteer
The District requires that all volunteers, including parents, complete an application before they can volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, please apply online.  Volunteer opportunities are posted on Konstella or communicated directly by your student's teachers. There are many volunteer opportunities before, after, and during school. 

 

8. Open Volunteer Positions
Note that parents must bring the QR code from Verkada (with photo ID) in order to volunteer.

9. Reminders

  • Traffic Reminder: there is no left turn into the school from Mann Drive during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Instead of turning onto Mann Drive from Appian Way, please take Marlesta Road to help with the flow of traffic. (see map for refresher) 
  • Lost and Found: The school’s lost and found is overflowing! Have your child check it for any missing items, or come check it yourself after school! Starting in October, the school will be clearing out the Lost and Found every month or so, rather than waiting until a school break. 
  • Join the PTA: Please consider joining if you have not already done so! Your membership helps support programming and experiences for our school.  Yearly membership is $16 per person–click here to pay online.

1. Celebraciones en el aula del Festival del Medio Otoño: lunes 6 de octubre
Este festival tradicional celebra la cosecha y la reunión familiar bajo la luna llena y está marcado por tradiciones como comer pasteles de luna, decorar linternas y pasar tiempo con los seres queridos. 2. Campaña de donaciones de otoño

4. Almuerzo de agradecimiento a los maestros y al personal: miércoles 15 de octubre 
El miércoles 15 de octubre, la PTA organizará un almuerzo de agradecimiento a los maestros y al personal en el campus de primaria.
