3. Sign up for the Lunar New Year Teacher/Staff Appreciation Tea - Wednesday, February 11
We are hosting an appreciation gathering in honor of Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day. We’d love for each class to be represented by bringing a small food or drink item. Please sign up here on Konstella to represent your class to bring food or drinks on Wednesday, February 11, when teachers and staff from both campuses will meet at our elementary site in the afternoon. Food items may be cooked or bought, and the quantity does not need to be large, just enough for 4 to 6 people. Your participation makes a big difference, and together we can once again show our teachers and staff how much they are appreciated. Thank you for helping make this a meaningful celebration!
4. Sign up for the WCMS Elementary Science Fair - Wednesday-Friday, March 11-13
The Elementary Science Fair 2026 will take place during school hours on 3/11, 3/12, and 3/13. Students in Grades K through 5 are invited to conduct an experiment, create a poster about their findings, and present their poster during the fair. All students in grades TK through 5 will take turns visiting the presentations of other grades. On Friday, 3/13/2026, all students are welcome to display their science project in the MPR and families are welcome to view them between 2:00-2:40 pm. The school will provide tri-fold poster boards for the student displays. Interested families, please sign up on the Google form to register your interest so that we know the number of tri-fold posters to order. The deadline to register a project is Friday, February 13, 2026.

6. Mindfulness Course Opportunity
Yang Laoshi, who currently teaches mindfulness at WCMS, will be offering an online mindfulness course for children in March. The online course will be open to WCMS families and will take place over six weeks. Please see the enclosed flyer for additional details. For questions, contact suwen@mindfulcircles.me.
Students are invited to participate in the Richmond Art Center’s 60th Annual WCCUSD Student Art Show. Interested families should sign up by Wednesday, February 11. After registration, Niu Laoshi will work directly with students to support their artwork. This is a great opportunity for students to showcase their creativity alongside peers from across the district! Questions? Contact Niu Laoshi at tianqi.niu@wccusd.net. 8. Open Volunteer Positions
Note that parents must bring the QR code from Verkada (with photo ID) in order to volunteer.
- PTA Committees - many of our committees still need volunteers, and some (such as our JEDI, ART, STEAM committees) still need committee chairs. On the Konstella app, click on “Directory” and “Browse Committees” to see available roles. You may also contact programsvp@wcmspta.org with any questions.
- Elementary Drop-off and Pick-up - We are looking for morning volunteers and afternoon volunteers to help with drop-off and pick-up at the elementary site.
- Elementary recess/lunch - We are looking for morning lunch and recess volunteers to help at the elementary site.
9. Reminders
- Lost and Found: The school’s lost and found is overflowing! If your child has lost something at school, have your child check it for any missing items, or come check it yourself after school! The school will be clearing out the Lost and Found every month or so, rather than waiting until a school break.
- Join the PTA: Please consider joining if you have not already done so! Your membership helps support programming and experiences for our school. Yearly membership is $16 per person–click here to pay online.
- Spirit Wear Sales: Looking to buy some WCMS gear? Visit our Spirit Wear Website.
- Volunteer: Apply at each school site(s) where you wish to volunteer and provide evidence of a cleared TB screening to the front office. - HK Cafe 香港咖啡馆： 仍在营业中；位于列治文99大华购物中心内。每笔订单将捐赠10%的销售额给WCMS（堂食、外带、餐饮服务——下单时必须注明“WCMS”）。
