2. Boba Sale Afterschool - Wednesday, March 4
Craving something sweet after school? We’ve got you covered!
The 5th Grade Field Trip Fundraising Committee is hosting a 🧋Boba Sale🧋 on Wednesday, March 4 from 1:30–2:30 PM after school!
Grab a cup of delicious, refreshing boba and help support next year’s 5th grade science overnight trip. Every sip helps our students get one step closer to an unforgettable adventure! 🌟🔬🌲
Come treat yourself, bring a friend, and support a great cause.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Love games? We need you! Sign up to host a game station at Family Game Night by bringing a favorite board or card game to share. Volunteers will help explain the game and keep the fun going. Let’s unplug, play together, and make this a night to remember! The 4th grade class will also be selling food and drinks to raise funds for their study trip next year. Note: Parents must stay with and supervise their children, this is not a drop-off event. Please sign up on Konstella to host a game–we hope to see you there!
4. Volunteers Needed for SF Chinese New Year Parade - Saturday, March 7
We are looking for parent volunteers to help on the day of the SF Chinese New Year parade, which takes place on Saturday, March 7. We need a family with minivan/van to pick up supplies on 3/6 and bring costumes and supplies to SF on Saturday 3/7. We also need 2-3 parents to walk alongside the group on the sidewalk behind the barriers to help students if needed, such as to go to bathroom. Families to help bring water and/or snacks for students before the parade and to help organize dinner for teachers. Parents to help organize and hand out vests and decorate the wagon. 5. Poster Boards Ready for Pick-up for the Elementary Science Fair
Tri-fold poster boards for the Science Fair can be picked up from the front office. If you have registered your child, please have them pick up their board or help them to do so. Please only take one board if your child is participating in a group project.
We are looking for a few parents to attend the fair on each day as volunteer judges–you will play a key role in helping our students develop their presentation skills by being their attentive audience! You’ll fill out a short rubric form to give them some simple feedback and then give each presenter a participation prize. Please sign up to volunteer here.

9. In-person PTA General Meeting 3/19 (RSVP requested)
We are excited to invite you to the upcoming WCMS General PTA Meeting, which will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room at our elementary campus. This will be our only in-person general meeting of the year, so please join us to keep up to date with school news and events, discuss important issues, hear from our principal, Dr. Peterson, and build community with fellow WCMS families!
Dinner will be provided! To ensure we order enough food, please RSVP by Monday, March 16th via the Konstella post. Childcare services will also be available during the meeting. We look forward to your presence and active involvement in our WCMS community. Together, we can make a positive impact on our children's educational journey. Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to see you on March 19th!
10. Sports Committee UpdatesBasketball: WCMS Basketball is going strong start and is still open to kids in grades 2-8. If you are interested, please join by coming to practice soon, as the kids and coaches are gearing up to participate in spring leagues and tournaments. Practices are:
- 2nd-4th graders: Mondays and Fridays 6-7pm at Soskin gym
- 5th-8th graders: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7pm at Soskin gym
11. Registration for Girls on the Run starts now!
Girls on the Run is a national after school activity for girl-identifying students in grades 3-5 that offers training for a 5K event to be held in May in addition to lessons and activities to boost confidence and social skills.
West County Mandarin’s spring program will be held from March 10- May 9 with 2 practices weekly on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:45pm (excluding spring break). Practices are held by trained volunteer coaches, including our beloved Ms. Chase.
Fees are based on a sliding scale ranging from $30-350. Fees cover program materials, a Girls on the Run t-shirt and entry to the large 5K event that Girls on the Run Bay Area hosts in May in San Leandro.
This is a fun way for girl-identifying students to learn about themselves, connect with others, and learn to navigate life. Many girls that have participated over the past 2 years would not really identify themselves as a “runner” but have enjoyed the experience anyway! The focus is to grow, do your personal best and have fun!

Ready to cheer on your child and make a lasting difference? The WCMS Spring Sport-a-Thon is coming up on Thursday, April 16 at the Elementary Campus and Friday, April 17 at the Middle Campus. This exciting event is a day of fun and friendly competition for our kids. They'll get to challenge themselves in a variety of fun sports stations that will test their strength, balance, speed, and coordination. Keep an eye on Konstella for more details on fundraising and how to sign up to volunteer–your help will be needed to make this event a success!
13. Open Volunteer Positions
Note that parents must bring the QR code from Verkada (with photo ID) in order to volunteer.
- PTA Committees - many of our committees still need volunteers, and some (such as our JEDI, ART, STEAM committees) still need committee chairs. On the Konstella app, click on “Directory” and “Browse Committees” to see available roles. You may also contact programsvp@wcmspta.org with any questions.
- Elementary Drop-off and Pick-up - We are looking for morning volunteers and afternoon volunteers to help with drop-off and pick-up at the elementary site.

14. Reminders
- Lost and Found: The school’s lost and found is overflowing! If your child has lost something at school, have your child check it for any missing items, or come check it yourself after school! The school will be clearing out the Lost and Found every month or so, rather than waiting until a school break.
- Join the PTA: Please consider joining if you have not already done so! Your membership helps support programming and experiences for our school. Yearly membership is $16 per person–click here to pay online.

4. 旧金山中国新年游行需要志愿者 - 3月7日，星期六
我们正在招募家长志愿者，协助3月7日（星期六）举行的旧金山中国新年游行。我们需要一个有小型货车/面包车的家庭，在3月6日领取物资，并在3月7日（星期六）将服装和物资运送到旧金山。我们还需要2-3位家长在人行道上跟随队伍，在路障后方协助学生，例如在他们需要时帮助他们去洗手间。请家长们在游行开始前为学生准备水和/或零食，并协助老师们准备晚餐。请家长们帮忙组织和分发背心，并装饰花车。如果您能提供帮助，请 在Konstella上注册！

10. 体育委员会最新消息篮球： WCMS篮球队开局良好，目前仍面向2-8年级的学生开放。如果您有兴趣，请尽快加入训练，孩子们和教练们正在积极备战春季联赛和锦标赛。训练时间如下：
- 2-4年级：每周一和周五下午6-7点，地点：Soskin体育馆
- 5-8年级：每周二和周四下午6-7点，地点：Soskin体育馆
“Girls on the Run” 是一项面向三至五年级认同为女孩的学生的全国性课后活动项目。该项目不仅为五月举行的5公里（5K）跑步活动提供训练，还通过课程和活动帮助提升自信心和社交能力。
West County Mandarin 的春季项目将于 3月10日至5月9日 举行，每周两次训练，时间为 每周二和周四下午2:30–3:45（春假期间除外）。训练由经过专业培训的志愿者教练带领，包括我们深受喜爱的 Chase 老师。
