1. Advocates Needed to Represent WCMS at District Town Hall 3/25
We are looking for 5 of our community members to attend the upcoming District town hall meeting regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP is a three-year plan that outlines the goals, actions, services, and anticipated budget for the district.  This is a great opportunity to represent the priorities and needs of our school and ensure that our students' voices are represented in the conversation.  The meeting is Tuesday, March 25th from 6:00 - 8:30 pm via Zoom (meeting ID 925 4761 5644). 2. PTA General Meeting Recap
Thank you to those who were able to join our in-person PTA general meeting! In addition to discussing key budget updates and findings from our annual financial review (audit), we reviewed exciting upcoming events, such as fundraisers at Panera, Panda Express, and Chuck E. Cheese; Sport-a-Thon; and STEM Families Night. For more information, or if you were not able to attend, you can view the slides from the meeting here.  Our last general meeting of the year will take place virtually on May 22.

3. Future Career Day 3/27
Get ready for Future Career Day on March 27, when WCMS students at both campuses have the chance to express their future career goals through their attire. Students can choose to dress up in an outfit that represents their envisioned career path. Students may also wear their regular school uniform. We look forward to seeing the diversity of career choices and the enthusiasm each of our students brings to Future Career Spirit Day.

4. Panera Fundraiser 3/28
Join us on Friday, March 28, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Panera in Pinole for a fundraiser benefiting our school! Use the code "FUND4U" at https://www.panerabread.com/en-us/home.html or in the Panera app, or when ordering via the self-service kiosk in-store. If ordering from the cashier, please show the attached flyer to ensure your order counts toward the fundraiser. Both dine-in and take-out orders qualify! During the sales period, 25% of proceeds will be donated to the WCMS PTA. Note that this fundraiser is only valid at the Pinole store.

5. Sports Committee Update
Basketball - good luck tomorrow to our 4th-6th grade basketball team, who will participate in the WCCUSD coed basketball tournament. Free practices/classes will continue after the tournament for all interested 2nd-6th graders, thanks to parent volunteer coach Reggie Figgs.  Practices are Wednesdays 6-7pm at Soskin Middle School gym, and Fridays 6-7pm at Pinole Middle School gym.  Wear gym shoes and bring water.

WCCUSD Soccer League for 4th-6th graders: WCMS is participating in the upcoming coed WCCUSD soccer league, which consists of 6 weeks of practice and a one day tournament, thanks to parent volunteer coach Armando Paz.  Practices will be Wed and Fridays 6-7pm at DeJean Middle School, starting next week 3/26.  If interested, please fill out this survey and come to practice next week: https://forms.gle/1dNG7R6aQGNBQ2cu6

6. Boba & Bake Sale Friday Fundraisers
Join the current 6th grade classes for a series of Friday after school fundraisers at Pinole Middle School to support the 7th grade China study trip for 2026! Enjoy Friday boba with both milk tea and chocolate milk, plus light snacks, such as pizza (cheese, pepperoni), chips, and baked goods. It’s a great opportunity to have a tasty after school treat as spring arrives. Bring cash and an empty stomach, and help support our students! Boba & Bake Sale Fridays will be held on the following dates at the Pinole Middle School (WCMS elementary) campus: 3/21, 4/4, 4/17, 4/25, 5/9, 5/16.

7. Open Volunteer Positions
Note that the new Verkada system is operational. New and returning volunteers must obtain a QR code via this website. If you have previously applied for a QR code but have not received a response, you may email WCCUSD Associate Superintendent Summer Siegler (ssigler@wccusd.net) or Director of Community Engagement Martine Blake (martine.blake@wccusd.net) for assistance.
