West Service Learning Project - LEGO DRIVE with PROJECT RELAY
With Project Replay, West and South students will donate used Legos in the donation bins from January 19-January 28. Project Replay wants to share the power of play with others who may not have the same resources. Legos are a great way to play, problem solve, think creatively and relax. By sharing our Legos with others, we can benefit each other while impacting the environment. Legos are made of plastic that is very difficult to recycle. Most of the time, it just ends up in the landfills and it lasts for a long time. Passing them along extends the life of the Lego while reducing what goes in our landfills.
The donated legos will be sent to Lego Co, who will collect, clean and package legos to TeachforAmerica, and the Boys and Girls Club of Boston. In addition, the West and South communities will clean and package some of the Legos to send to our local Mid Peninsula Boy and Girls Club.
Please bring your Lego branded bricks (duplos included) to the donation bins right in front of the schools. Please take out any batteries and make sure they are not broken. They do not need to be cleaned or sorted. Please take the time to discuss with your kids how we can impact others as well as the environment through Project Replay.
Thank you for your participation!
