Service Learning - Project Helping Hands
Mon, Apr 12 - Fri, Apr 23
West Elementary

ProjectHelpingHand is West's first-ever Student-Led Service Learning Project. Eighteen 5th Graders have volunteered to lead the project, educating their schoolmates about the importance of personal hygiene and healthy bodies for ourselves and our community, getting everyone excited to donate, and supporting our community partner Samaritan House.

West students will donate personal hygiene items in the donation bins from April 12-April 23rd. To ensure we get a range of items requested by the Samaritan House, we are asking parents to please donate the suggested items in their grade; bins will be placed at the front of the school. Full size items preferred over travel size. However, any items on the list will be appreciated.

Pre-K/Kinder/1st: Toothpaste/Toothbrushes, PPE Gloves, Liquid Dish Detergent, Sanitizing Wipes

2nd/3rd: Soap (hand and body), Liquid/Spray Hand sanitizer, Shampoo, Body/Hand Lotion

4th/5th: Laundry Detergent, Deodorant, PPE Masks, Sanitizing Cleaning Spray/Wipes

Please take the time to discuss with your kids the lessons of ProjectHelpingHands, the importance of healthy bodies for ourselves and for our community.

Thank you for your participation,
