West Valley Elementary
Dear West Valley Families,
Family Science Night will be here in less than three weeks! This year's theme is "Gadgets in Motion!"
FSN is an annual event to promote creative and imaginative thinking and to allow our students to experiment with a variety of physical concepts. The WVPTO has again partnered with Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose to bring 10 new scientific activity stations:
• balancing an object,
• pantograph duplicator,
• impact reaction with marbles,
• motion with friction,
• pneumatic rocket,
• and more…
Students and parents rotate between interactive stations where parent and teen volunteers assist with individual activities. In addition, Mrs. Wendy Chew will have the C-Lab open between 6-7 pm for our families to tour inside.
This is a WVPTO sponsored event. West Valley students of grades K through 5, and their families are welcome, and are sure to find exciting hands-on projects.
***Please, supervise your children at all times. This is not a drop-off event.***
We will need several parent volunteers to help with setup, cleanup and to run the project stations during the event. High school sibling volunteers are also welcome to help run the science projects. Volunteer opportunities will be listed in a later email.
