Hi West Valley Families,
I am Rashmi Saraf, parent of 2nd grader son. I am leading "India" country booth. We have a huge community. We'd like everyone to participate. The idea is to showcase our country to the kids.
We'll be having a booth. We'll decorate the booth with all Indian artifacts, facts about India. It's like visiting a booth where kids can learn important facts about the country.
We are including art and craft, games, music and most important food. We'll have Heena (Mehandi). I need three to four volunteers who can put small tattoos .
Everyone can wear ethnic wear.
Everyone can bring a dish to share, enough for 10-12 people . It's a potluck. Store bought is acceptable. Try to bring finger food which is easy to serve. We'll label food items.
We are having cultural performances too. Since bollywood is a huge part of India, some of the parents stepped up to teach kids group dance. We have GLC available on coming Tuesday on March 14 right after school where everyone can show up if kids would like to participate. We need commitment. We need volunteers to organize it.
We have opened up a What's app group which is easy to communicate.
You can reach me at 408-338-5580
If you'd like to be part of group, please ping me.
We really need lot of support in setting up, decoration, art and craft, games and finally cleaning up.
hope as a community, make it a successful event for our kids.
Feel free to let me know if I missed out or did not cover. Open to suggestions.
