West Valley Elementary
Hello West Valley Families,
Welcome back Wildcats! We hope your first week of school is off to a great start! Looking ahead, there are many wonderful volunteer opportunities throughout our school. Below are some options that need volunteers as soon as possible:
Room Parents organize classroom parties and coordinate teacher appreciation events. The Lead Room Parent is the liaison between the classroom teacher and parents, and coordinates the efforts of the other room parents.
Classroom Flag Makers
Our annual Walkathon on October 8 will be a fun and festive event for the whole school community. As one of our Walkathon traditions, students take turns carrying their classroom flag around the track. We are seeking parent volunteers to make a flag for their child’s classroom. Classroom flags can be designed in a wide variety of styles and themes. Making a flag is a fun, simple way to show your West Valley pride and create more school spirit for your child’s classroom.
Each month, Project Cornerstone volunteers read selected books and lead classroom activities and discussions with a focus on respect, tolerance, peaceful conflict resolution, caring and friendship. Training, materials, and instructions are provided to allow volunteers to lead sessions with confidence!
To sign-up for any of these volunteer opportunities:
- Open Konstella (www.konstella.com)
- Choose “Committees” on the right-hand menu
- Scroll down to find the volunteer opportunity of interest to you: “Room Parents," "Project Cornerstone," or "WAT Classroom Flag Makers"
- Sign-up as a volunteer for your child’s classroom.
Thanks for your support!
