Update 8/28: Room parents still needed in TK-3rd grade classes! The following rooms have 0 or 1 room parent so far:

  • TK: Room 3 (Guidi)
  • Kinder: Room 1 (Kakes), Room 2 (Chang), Room 6 (Srikumar)
  • 1st/2nd: Room 8 (Yang), Room 9 (Koerner), Room 31 (Burbank)
  • 3rd: Room 16 (Peters), Room 20 (Dewar)

Hello West Valley Families,

Many WVPTO programs and committees are already in progress or getting started soon, but our teams are not complete! A full list of volunteer committees can be found on Konstella, but the most immediate needs are:

Valet Program: Another Co-Lead and more parent/student volunteers needed ASAP to keep Valet from being canceled! See more info and sign up here. 

  • Types of volunteers needed: program co-lead, weekly parent volunteers, and weekly 4th/5th grade volunteers (with or without their own parent)

Room Parents: Help plan class parties, coordinate teacher appreciation plans, and facilitate communication between the teacher and other parents. Room parent teams should get started before Back to School Night. See more info and sign up here.

  • Room Parents needed for: Nearly ALL of TK, Kinder, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade classes; plus 4th grade Room 22.

Project Cornerstone: Another Co-Lead and more classroom readers still needed! Volunteers read selected books and lead classroom activities with a focus on respect, caring, and friendship. Training and materials provided. See more info and sign up here.

  • No Readers yet for: Room 1, Room 6, Room 8, Room 9, Room 16, Room 17, Room 21
  • Additional Reader needed for: Room 2, Room 3, Room 15, Room 20, Room 30 

Walkathon: It’s official: the traditional West Valley Walkathon will be BACK this year! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 14, 2023, 10am-3pm for a fun-filled day with the whole family - a fundraising event including laps around the field, silent auction, carnival games, yummy food, and making memories with the West Valley community. Click here to get involved on a subcommittee!

  • Subcommittee Leads/Co-Leads needed for: Check-in/Check-out, Setup/Cleanup, Carnival Games, Adult Volunteer Coordinator, Teen Volunteer Coordinator
  • Subcommittee Team Members needed for: [most time-sensitive work] Silent Auction, Sponsorship + more positions to be added at the link above
