The annual West Valley Parent Teacher Organization (WVPTO) Direct Donation Drive officially kicks off this week! Due to missed fundraisers during the pandemic, we have been operating at a deficit despite trimming costs and using funds from savings in order to avoid cutting major programs the last few years. This year, Direct Donation is crucial in putting us back on track with a balanced budget.
What the WVPTO Funds
Funds raised by this direct ask campaign will be used to support the majority of the WVPTO budget for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Money raised during this campaign will help fund the continuation of:
- K-5 Art Program with certified Art Teacher ~$47,000
- 2 Instructional Aides providing Intervention Support ~$50,000
- Additional hours for Librarian and Technology Media Specialist ~$34,000
- K-5 Recess 101 Program (CUSD covers approx. other half) ~$25,000
- K-3 Music Program (CUSD covers 4-5 Music) ~$14,000
- $500 per classroom to be used at teacher’s discretion ~$8,000
- Community events like Movie Nights, Family Science Night, Multicultural Festival ~$5,000
Our Campaign Goals
Our goal is to raise $125,000 by April 12th, and we need your help. The programs listed above are dependent on the success of this campaign. The suggested donation amount is $500 per family with one student, plus $250 for each additional student at West Valley. Please donate what you can – every donation and any amount is appreciated and makes a difference. We are striving for 100% participation from current and incoming West Valley families.
